Cindy is a post-doctoral Advanced Health Services Research Fellow at the Providence VA Medical Center's Center of Innovation in Long Term Services and Supports (LTSS COIN). The mission of the COIN is to develop research on measurement, implementation, and quality of VA long term support services that enhances access to and value of care delivered to vulnerable Veterans. Cindy's first year research involves engaging nurses as leaders in taking a systems approach to applying evidence-based practice in caring for people at risk for or experiencing delirium across the continuum of care. Her prior nursing experience includes both long term care and critical care nursing, as well as corporate leadership in a variety of healthcare organizations.

Cindy is also a Red Cross volunteer disaster nurse and served Clients in a mega-shelter during last year's flooding in Louisiana. She serves as adjunct faculty at the MGHIHP in her role as a volunteer mentor for DNP candidates.

Cindy began her nursing career as an LPN. She earned an ADN from the University of Bridgeport, a BS in Health Care Administration from St. Joseph’s College (Maine), an MBA from Western New England University, and a DNP with a concentration in executive leadership at the MGH Institute of Health Professions. Her areas of interest is include healthcare policy, advocacy, academic advancement, leadership development, disaster nursing, and population health. 


Cindy is a member of the ANA/CNA, NLN/CLN, CNC-AC, Sigma Theta Tau, the Gerontological Society of America, and the League of Women Voters.  Cindy has served the CNA as co-chair of the Leadership Committee from 2015- 2017, as a member of the Government Relations Committee, and on the Convention Planning Committee for two years.
