Susan joined the Sacred Heart University College of Nursing Faculty in the fall of 2014. She is an associate professor in the undergraduate nursing program. She started her nursing profession as a graduate in a diploma program from St. Vincent’s School of Nursing in Bridgeport, CT in 1985. She completed her BSN @ Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT in 1990, her Masters in HealthCare Administration with a concentration in medical group management from the University of New Haven, CT in 1996 and in the spirit of lifelong learning her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Sacred Heart University in 2013.

Susan has 31 years of experience in medical-surgical nursing as well as nursing leadership. Susan is a member of ANA, CNA, Sigma Theta Tau and additionally holds two ANCC certifications, Med-Surg Nursing as well as Gerontological Nursing.

She has been the recipient of several awards both inside the nursing realm as well as outside including SHU Dean’s Leadership Award, St. Vincent’s Nursing Research Award, St. Vincent’s Nursing Leadership Award, Florence Nightingale Award, Advance for Nursing Best Innovator Award, Hearst Honorable mention Top Nurses of Fairfield County, Parental involvement Recognition Award (CT SERC), St. Mary/St. Michael Guardian Angel Award and St. John Neumann Hopes Award.

Susan has had several regional and national poster presentations and publications. In addition to her faculty position Sue works in Clinical Informatics as well as Parish Nursing. Sue has been active and served CNA on the Leadership Committee, CNA jubilee awards committee as well as the CNA web design committee.
