Early Childhood Health Consultant Training

8 am - 12 noon

(attend all three sessions)


This training will provide nurses specific knowledge about the field of child care, and the role of the nurse in promoting health and safety.  The health/nurse consultant will gain knowledge and strengthen their ability to promote best practices to support the health and safety of children within early childhood settings.

Participants must attend all 3 days, complete all assignments and evaluation form in order to receive a certificate of completion.

Participants will learn:

  • Tools and resources to support early childhood programs in health and safety topics will be introduced and reviewed
  • Role and responsibilities of the Child Care Health Consultant in CT
  • Consultant’s role in supporting quality enhancement strategies
  • Effective skills to include children with special needs in early care and education programs
  • Consultation, advocacy and training skills to promote children’s learning, health, safety, and well being and enhance their readiness for school
