Mary Kate Eanniello RN, DNP, OCN  

Mary Kate is the Director of Nursing Education and Professional Practice for the Hartford Health Care Cancer Institute.  She is an End of Life Nurse Educator trainer and has expertise in oncology and palliative care.  She serves on the Government Relations Committee for CT Nurses Association and is a  board member on the Central Connecticut Oncology Nursing Society.  



Karen Wexell, RN, MSN, HNB-BC, CHC

Karen Wexell is a passionate holistic nurse leader, educator, and practitioner. She became interested in holistic approaches as a means to introduce the art of nursing back into the high tech healthcare environment. She is a graduate of Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing, received a BSN from Central CT State University and MSN from the University of Harford. She currently is an RN Care Coordinator and Health Coach in the livingwellCARES employee wellness program at Yale New Haven Health System. Karen is the Holistic Nursing Program Consultant for The Graduate Institute in Bethany, CT. She an adjunct professor at Post University where she also serves on the RN-BSN Advisory Board. She has held multiple positions in nursing education and clinical practice. Karen has spent several years as an active leader in Connecticut Chapters of the American Holistic Nurses Association.

Karen is certified as a Holistic Nurse, Health Coach, HeartMath® Practitioner, Pranakriya Yoga Instructor, Holistic Stress Management Instructor, and ‘M” Technique Instructor. Karen’s primary mission involves helping people to empower themselves through approaches that integrate the connection between science, spirituality, and personal transformation. 


Susanne Yeakel, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, CNM


Susanne Yeakel,  currently is the Nurse Director for the Inpatient Rehab Unit at Hartford Healthcare. She facilitated the opening of the 26-bed unit September 2018. Today, this unit sustains out-performances in region and national benchmarks for length of stay, and transitions to both home and skilled nursing facilities.  Susanne is also the Nurse Director for Inpatient Dialysis, General Surgery, and the Wound and Ostomy Program at Hartford Hospital.

Susanne’s professional nursing career spans over 40 years in multiple roles from staff nurse, clinical leader, educator and nurse manager. She is the recipient of many awards, including the Doris Armstrong Leadership Award. Susanne is published and has given numerous presentations.

Susanne graduated from Albright College with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and completed a Master of Science in Nursing Administration from the University of Hartford. She is board certified as a Nurse Executive, Advanced and is also an AONE Certified Nurse Manager Leader.





Connecticut Nurses Association is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation
