Human Trafficking
What every nurse needs to know!

Oct 30, 2019
11:30 - 4:30 pm

For 113 years nurses in CT convene to learn about important issues that relate to nursing in many specialty areas across all health settings!

The American Nurses Association identified the critical need to educate all nurses about Human Trafficking, a public health crisis.

This event will kick off several skill building workshops for nurses to increase their understanding of the issue and strategies to implement to support patients.

Who should attend: Nurses and members of interdisciplinary teams that collaborate to identify and support individuals that are trafficked or post trauma.  Nurses in many health care settings may have the opportunity to identify and support individuals in human trafficking, such as the emergency room, primary/ambulatory care, community health centers, schools and more! Gather your team members or come with like minded colleagues to begin an intentional approach in your setting!

Outcomes

  • Nurses will understand the pervasive issue of Human Trafficking
  • Nurses will understand the CT landscape for Human Trafficking
  • Nurses will begin to understand their role in leading and creating models of care/services in their organizations
  • Nurses will leave with actionable plan of next steps!
